In a race that took an eternity to run and will never likely be remembered fondly by anybody who witnessed it, Sam Walsh prevailed in round 15 of the Eastern Creek Speedway Sprintcar Track Championship on Saturday night (April 15). Having qualified on pole position by virtue of his win the Dash, Walsh was never headed in a 30-lap feature race that saw just nine of 25 starters survive the craziness and make it to the finish. A late surge from Jessie Attard propelled him into second ahead of Troy Little, Zac Pacchiarotta and Ben Atkinson.

In an epic 35-lap feature race at Eastern Creek Speedway on Saturday night (April 1), Marcus Dumesny created history when he joined his father and brother as a winner of the New South Wales Sprintcar Championship. In a drive reminiscent of his national title win in Brisbane last season, Dumesny started from row five and was clinical in his advance through the field, chasing down current Australian champ Jock Goodyer and Grand Annual Classic winner Brock Hallett to hit the front with 10 laps remaining. Goodyer went back to the front momentarily following a final restart with eight laps to run, but Dumesny was not to be denied, sliding back under Goodyer through turn two to reclaim the lead to clinch a memorable win. Having led for much of the running, Hallett regained one spot late in proceedings to push Goodyer back to third, with Queensland young gun Jy Corbet flying into fourth ahead of Luke Stirton, Lachlan Caunt, Randy Morgan, Aaron Kelly, Kaidon Brown and Michael Stewart.

The opening night of competition in the 64th running of the New South Wales Sprintcar Championship at Eastern Creek Speedway on Friday night (March 31) has resulted in a Preliminary feature race win for Victoria-based Queenslander Brock Hallett, who led all 20 laps to defeat Australian champ Jock Goodyer in tricky conditions. Whilst it was certainly no surprise to see Hallett and Goodyer secure the top two spots given they have been the dominant performers around the country this season, Luke Stirton certainly upstaged many more fancied runners with his run into third spot ahead of Lachlan Caunt and last-start feature winner Ryan Newton. Having started from row five, Matt Dumesny would advance to sixth, with Kaidon Brown, Jy Corbet, Ben Atkinson and B-Main winner Grant Anderson rounding out the top ten.

Ryan Newton became the latest interstate invader to join the list of Sprintcar feature race winners at Eastern Creek Speedway when the young Queenslander blitzed the field to win round 13 of the ECR Track Championship on Saturday night (March 18). Newton started on the inside of row four and used the highline to round up his rivals and negotiate lapped traffic, emerging with the lead on lap 21. Daniel Sayre enjoyed a brief stint at the front after deposing Lachlan Caunt from the lead on lap 18 but would ultimately have to settle for second, while a last-lap leap would see Sam Walsh round up both Caunt and Aaron Kelly to snatch third. Warren Ferguson, Luke Stirton and Kaiden Brown were next in line, with Zac Pacchiarotta and Ben Atkinson rounding out the top ten.
